Another hot spot for Capetonians is midtown Woodstock. The Biscuit Mill is one of the busiest locations on a Saturday morning. Not your common cafe or restaurant, the Biscuit Mill is actually a block of many different design and arts stores. However on a Saturday morning a marque is assembled and many of the local chefs and barrister’s come together to show off their fabulous tastes at the Neighbourgoods Market.
The most beautiful time to visit is obviously when it is not raining or windy, but the Biscuit Mill accommodates for this, as all stalls and the seating area are all under cover.
From cheeses to chocolates, olives to smoothies, whatever tickles your fancy you will be sure to find it here. Best to arrive around 9am as parking can be quite tricky, however if you are not averse to walking then meander across at anytime before 1pm.
What i love most about the Biscuit Mill is its vintage, quirky design, and this too leaks into the style of dress people wear on their Saturday morning visits. Floral skirts and brown ankle boots, waste coats and tommy takkies… what a splendid way to spend a weekend!
So draw your cash and wear your flats, and you will most certainly be quite enthralled by the show that is the Biscuit Mill market.
