With the date of my depature beckoning I decided to call on some friends for a little tea. So on Saturday we embraced the sunshine and sat under an umbrella on the lawns of Norscot Manor.
Norscot Manor is an old estate with beautiful gardens and a Cape Dutch style Manor, near Douglasdale/Fourways. The Secret Garden is their little restaurant on the property and is perfect for any occasion. Baby showers, Kitchen teas, breakfast with your mum or a girly outing, this venue is stunning!
Our one friend, Shell, has just had a baby and she brought him along. He loved it! There were children running around, playing in the gardens and in the play area. Any mother would be so happy to find this place, she can chat to her friends while her kids are in a safe play area having a ball.
On the menu, well we went for the traditional tea and scones. Delicious, warm, large scones served with butter, jam and cream. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning! But then again I am the one who wishes her life was straight out of a Jane Austin novel.
So seeing as the beautiful summer JHB weather is here to stay, why not make this an outing to plan. Loads of parking, lovely walks around the garden, art exhibitions and the tea garden make Norscot Manor a wonderful morning adventure.
thanks for the heads-up - sounds divine, think i must go have tea there!
