Hello readers.
I have been pondering on which cafe to write about next and I decided on my most recent visit to Freedom Cafe.
Paul and I had heard about Freedom Cafe and we kind of new where it was but we just couldn’t find it.
Anyway, eventually we found this Durban gem, hidden amongst one way avenues and old churches near Greyville.
Freedom Cafe is completely original, like nothing we have been to before. Why do I say this? Well Freedom Cafe is pretty much a retro container. Yes the cafe is in a container. Glass walls, mirror decals and scrumptious food are what make Freedom Cafe one of my new favourites. There are so many cool things about this cafe. Besides the delicious food, coffee and treats, the decor is brilliant! This cafe is the perfect hideaway. We sat there for hours, drinking coffee, eating crumpets and basking in the sunshine, as we sat on long plastic chairs shaped as sausage dogs.
Freedom Cafe is off St Mary’s Avenue near Greyville racecourse. It is an absolute win and we go back as often as we can. Paul’s family have just come out to SA from the UK and we are taking them there for breakfast on Saturday.
So head over there for coffee, tea or some good food.
Enjoy!
