On Saturday (5 April) 25 Durban Bloggers met at Hashtag restaurant on Windermere Road for the DBNBloggerMeet. There was great excitement as the build up for this event had been full of hints about what we could expect on the day.
The purpose of these events is 100% networking opportunities. We get to meet new bloggers, chat about what we do, make friends, and hopefully make a few work connections as well. The DBNBloggerMeet was like nothing I had ever been to, as the ladies who organised went out of their way to spoil us to the max. Nicola Meyer, Michelle Roberts, and Verushka Ramasami really took it upon themselves to organise a top class blogger event. Well done ladies.
Hashtag was the perfect venue for us creatives, as we were even given tablets to “build your own pizza” on. This new Durban restaurant is rustic chic and a great venue for functions. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was DELICIOUS. Thank you to all involved in making this possible for the DBNBloggerMeet. If you want to contact them check out their Twitter Page HERE.
We had a number of speakers including Mandy from Kitten Action. We were all asked to donate food for these rescued kittens and we heard all about how to get involved and what work Kitten Action are doing in Durban. If you’d like to find out more you can contact Mandy on [email protected].
As is common at these events we had amazing giveaways, and unlike usual EVERY blogger got a prize. I was on a lucky streak as I was given a REN Skincare Body Wash, Lotion and Bath Oil. I am already loving these products. BUT that was not all! After yummy cupcakes, pizza, dessert and lots of nattering, out came the gift bags. WOW is pretty much the best word to sum these up.
The sponsors involved in this DBNBloggerMeet didn’t hold back on spoiling us. Lenovo gave away 2 Yoga Tablets, and the gift bags we received were out of this world amazing. I am incredibly grateful to each sponsor involved and have already followed them all on Twitter as these products are incredible. From body products, to sleepwear, vouchers, make up, and even Le Creuset Coffee Mugs & Saucers… You can imagine how happy that made this coffee blogger.
What an amazing event the DBNBloggerMeet was and after meeting such incredible ladies who are all so passionate about what they blog about it just inspires me more. Durban bloggers you ladies are awesome and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Nice post, pretty much sums it up really well. Thanks for being there. Look forwards to meeting you again soon.
Thanks Amelia. Was such a fantastic day and always a treat meeting new bloggers. I hope we get to chat more next time 🙂 Have a wonderful week and keep blogging!
