Savior Brand Co. are well known for their bespoke leather craft around South Africa, and they just so happen to be located on the same road that I work part time from, Station Road. Even better, they have just launched a coffee shop and coffee brand called Savior Coffee.
Max & Sifiso at Savior Coffee |
Their cool branding and location speak for the nature of this coffee shop. They are 100% committed to being relevant in their community. I met Max, the owner of Savior Coffee and he expressed his heart behind opening the coffee shop on Station Road, and his hope is to serve the community and be part of the upliftment process of Durban city and surrounds.
The barista at Savior Coffee is a great guy, Sifiso, who has been trained and pours a great espresso shot. At the moment Sifiso is using a Burundian single origin bean from Colombo Coffee, and as soon as Savior Coffee get a second grinder they will be serving the Empire Coffee espresso blend.
A single shot cappuccino is a mere R15 and they have freshly baked biscuits and cupcakes (by So Whipped) on offer at the coffee shop. I’m not kidding when I say that the Red Velvet cupcake I had was like eating a cloud in heaven. Ok, enough with the analogies, it was so soft and DELICIOUS! Poke your head through the hole in the wall, take a seat in the alley way, or browse around the shop while waiting for your coffee of choice.
Here are some pictures I took to capture the vibe at Savior Coffee - location, branding, treats.
