Pedlars of fine coffee, the team at Vintage Coffee run their coffee shop rather uniquely to most coffee shops around. Vintage Coffee is a non profit coffee shop with a heart to reach those less fortunate, one cup of coffee at a time. The concept was dreamt up and birthed by couple Kevin and Rebeca Clark who not only love coffee, but love their city and the people in it.
What coffee do Vintage Coffee use?
They use a number of coffee roasts, roasted by Roast Re:public, but their main espresso blend is the Vintage Blend. This blend is a combination of Brazilian and Tanzanian beans, and even this combination has a story - Rebeca is from Brazil, and Kevin is from Africa. Vintage Coffee serve a number of coffee options - your espresso based regulars such as cappuccino, flat white, cortado, or you can have a pour over, or if you’re lucky and it’s hot out try their cold drip coffee.
So how does this non profit coffee shop work?
Every drink you order you receive a token. There is a voting station in the coffee shop with three write ups about different organisations making a difference in people’s lives. You get to choose which organisation you’d like to see the profits go to. At the end of the month the tokens are tallied and the organisation with the most tokens get the profits.
I just love what this coffee shop is doing for it’s community. Something different for us to get involved in and know that our cup of coffee is making a difference.
Vintage Coffee is in Centurion, just off the N1, 69 Freight Road.
